The main animited film for the "Let the Children play" project
As the crisis in Syria rages on an entire generation of children is being shaped by violence, displacement, and a persistent lack of opportunity. UNHCR together with leading international humanitarian organisations have recently launched the ‘No Lost Generation’ campaign which builds on the latest evidence of the impact the crisis is having on children, not least diminished access to education and protection.
In support of the No Lost Generation campaign the Play Foundation went to Zaatari Refugee camp (25.01 – 07.02.14), where we created several real staged Giga-Pixel photograph compositions. With the children as pivotal characters in each composition, each photograph tells a story accentuated in the detail. The animation was created in addition to the Giga-pixel artwork, further inspired by our work with the children.
We hope for this art work to create awareness and help increase empathy and support for refugee children affected by the crisis in Syria.
